Training Programme: In alignment with Food Safety Regulation R638

 

Duration: two (2) days theoretical, half (½) day practical

 

Introduction:

Flomotion has developed and implemented 3 different SAQA Unit Standards to address the requirements of Food Safety Regulation R638. This accredited training programme includes CPD points, and empowers attendees with the skills & understanding of the food safety environment and regulations. The lecturer for this intervention is an expert in food science and technology with 14 years of field and training experience.

 

Training Methodology:

The theoretical elements are concluded in class, and practical elements include an on-site workplace assessment. At the end of the training, candidates should:

  • Have an understanding of food safety and corrective procedures for food safety hazards
  • Have an understanding of good manufacturing practices in a food handling environment
  • Maintain personal hygiene, health and wellbeing, grooming and presentation
  • Understand clothing requirements for food handling
  • Demonstrate an understanding of personal safety
  • Apply safe working practices regarding the work area & equipment
  • Deal with safety emergencies
  • Safely handle & store raw and final products or chemicals
